This Privacy Policy explains how the Puer Browser mobile application for Android (the “App”, “Puer”) handles information. It applies only to the App and not to any third-party website, service, proxy operator, or app you may reach or use through Puer. By downloading or using the App you agree to this Policy.
1. Scope & who we are
Puer Browser is a general-purpose web browser that lets you view content from the open internet. We provide the App and its core features — proxy, content filtering, downloads, app lock, a customizable start page and related functionality. Puer has no content of its own; what you see depends entirely on the sites you visit and how you set the App up. We are the “data controller” for the limited information described below, and we do not control the third-party websites you choose to visit.
2. Content & age
Because Puer opens the open web, what appears is up to you. You are responsible for the content you choose to access, and you must meet the legal age required for any age-restricted content you view.
3. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on your device and choices, the following may be collected automatically:
Identifiers & device information
- Advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID / AAID) — used for advertising and measurement, subject to your device settings and consent (see Advertising).
- Device & app data — device model, operating-system version, language/locale, screen and app version, and general network information (e.g. connection type).
- IP address — processed by advertising and infrastructure services to deliver content and for security and fraud prevention. An IP address can indicate approximate (coarse) location such as country.
Usage & diagnostics
- App interaction & ad events — anonymous or pseudonymous signals about how features and advertisements are used (for example, that an ad was shown or a feature was opened), used to operate and improve the App and to measure advertising.
- Diagnostics — crash and performance information to keep the App stable.
Install attribution
- When you install the App, Android's Google Play Install Referrer may provide us with campaign and click identifiers (such as
gclid/gbraid) so we can measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These identifiers are not used to build a profile of your web browsing.
Proxy connections
- When you enable the proxy feature, your traffic is routed through third-party proxy servers so your IP address is hidden from the destination site. The operators of those servers necessarily process connection metadata (such as source/destination addresses) to route your traffic, under their own terms and policies. Puer does not keep logs of the pages you visit.
4. What we don't collect
- We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number or contacts to use the App.
- We do not keep server-side logs of your browsing history, and the analytics and diagnostic events we send to our own servers do not include the URLs, hostnames, paths, query strings or fragments of the pages you visit. Your history, tabs, bookmarks and downloaded files are stored locally on your device and are under your control (you can clear them at any time).
- We do not sell your personal information.
5. How we use information
- Provide, operate, maintain and secure the App and its features.
- Display and measure advertising that keeps the App free (see below).
- Measure the effectiveness of our own marketing and installs (attribution).
- Understand aggregate usage and fix bugs and crashes.
- Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
6. Advertising & Google AdMob
The App is free and supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process the advertising identifier, IP address, device information and ad-interaction data. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your region and your consent.
Google's use of information from apps that use its services is described here:
Ad mediation & third-party networks
We may use AdMob's mediation feature, which allows Google to serve ads from additional third-party advertising networks to improve availability and relevance. Where mediation is used, those networks may independently receive your advertising identifier, IP address and device or ad-interaction data, and process it under their own privacy policies. The set of ad partners can change over time; Google publishes the list of certified providers here:
The consent and opt-out controls described below apply to these partners as well.
Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Where required, we show a consent request (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are served. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from within the App or your device settings. Where you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized ads.
Opting out of personalized ads
On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ads personalization at any time: Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path may vary by device). Resetting the advertising ID prevents advertisers from linking prior ad activity to the new identifier.
7. Push notifications
If you enable notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in the App or in your device's system settings.
8. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the App:
- Google & advertising partners — for advertising (Google AdMob and, where mediation is used, third-party ad networks that serve ads through it), notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), install attribution (Google Play Install Referrer) and Google Play Services.
- Infrastructure & service providers — that host our backend or route proxy traffic, acting on our instructions.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public, or us.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond what is described in the Advertising section.
9. Data retention
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purposes above — for advertising and diagnostics this is typically a limited period, after which data is deleted or aggregated. Advertising identifiers are governed by your device settings. Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections to our services. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security or anonymity. You use the App and its proxy features at your own discretion and risk.
11. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability. You can also:
- Reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization in device settings.
- Change or withdraw ad consent from within the App.
- Clear your local browsing data, downloads and tabs in the App.
- Uninstall the App at any time.
To make a request, contact us at the address below. We will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
12. International transfers
Our service providers (including Google) may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards (for example, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses).
13. Children
Puer is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
